The Diamond Jubilee

My Grandma was what can only be described as a Hardcore Royalist.  She loved The Queen sick and followed her every move with intense interest. Growing up, I would often chat to Grandma about The Queen, Princess Diana and all things Royal.  I remember asking her once if she knew what an iPod was.  She rolled her eyes at me at replied, "Of course I know what an iPod is.  The Queen has one. I think she listens to it while she walks her corgis."

I've been loving all the Diamond Jubilee footage on tv in the past few days and just quietly, I think I might be a bit of a Hardcore Royalist too.  Yes, it's safe to say I've spent more than my fair share of time hogging the couch and remote, tuning into the Jubilee celebrations.  I've also flung around the line "Oh Grandma would have loved this" more times than I can count and even contemplated whipping up some Coronation Chicken for dinner tonight.  I have however, drawn the line at sipping on a sherry in the evening.  Because, despite popular belief, I'm not 82 years old.  Yet.

Anyho lovely readers, tonight the Diamond Jubilee Concert will be screened on tv here in Australia and while I really want to watch it, I think I need an early night.  Because look what's happening tomorrow.

Yes, the biggest day in my calendar year.
The Myer Stocktake Sale.
I've got a list and I've got a plan.
I'm going in early and I'm going in hard people.
Wish me luck.
And god help anyone who gets in my way.

How about you?
Do you have an iPod like the Queen?
And do you wonder what's on her playlist or is that just me?
